Let me just tell you this is my first product review and I know it's a good one. I reviewed Ultimate Monthly Business Planner -created by Alisha Byrd of www.thealishanicole.com. This is a BRAND NEW to the market product, officially launched just this past month. You can purchase this product on Amazon.com.
First I love the weight of the paper, I love the size of the planner. It's not super thick, like some planners. I know this planner will fit into my workbag or a bookbag. It has a soft soy ink cover. It is flexible and will with stand the comings and goings of my work life. I am reviewing the monthly planner (black and white), there is also a weekly planner (pink & white version) available as well.
This planner survived my sharpie test.
When you first open up the planner there are sections to help you (re)discover your business. There are worksheets for finding your sweet spot in biz, identifying your ideal customers, and space for basic branding. As you read through the first part of the planner you can hear Alisha's voice.
It's Like Alisha is actually talking to you
The next part of the planner is a space for product development, yearly goals, monthly stats. I like that Alisha added space for product development into this planner. It's helpful for any blogger or online business person to easily get their ideas onto paper. As for the yearly goals and monthly stats, I wish that the monthly stats were next to the actual months themselves. I enjoy that she included the most important stats that any rising business person needs to focus on - Like Social media stats, as well as pageviews, and email subscribers. I only wish their was a space for unique pages views and/or bounce rate.
Now into the actual monthly planner. The planner is a blank canvas, so you can fill in any month, anytime. On the monthly calendar page there is room for notes, social media goals and business goals. On the next page is a place to plan out your month goals. One of my month goals is to land three guest posting opportunities. Then under my goal line are more lines to put actionable steps to attain my goal. Next is the monthly checklist which is already pre-filled out for you. There are 11 monthly tasks on this list to that helps keep your business fresh every month. There is room on the page to write in your own "Monthly TO Do's" but you'll have to make your own cute bullet points. Lastly there is monthly reflections. In this space you can ponder what worked, and what didn't work each month. This part of the planner is repeated for 12 times, as there are 12 months in the calendar year.
In the very back there is some pages for "Serious Brainstorming" - All these pages are lined but I wish some were blank to doodle.
And that's it.
Overall, I have this planner 4.5/5 Stars.
This planner is perfect for more experienced bloggers or bloggers who are ready to make their blog into a income stream. This planner is good for online business entrepreneurs. I would not recommend this product to brick and mortar business owners because I don't think it has the right mechanics to help market a brick and mortar business - but it's perfect for the online world.
+Monthly Checklist is super helpful. The tasks on the list are well worth the price of the planner if you want to keep your business fresh each month.
+Structure - The overall weight of paper, soy-ink cover and strong binding will no doubt last the full 12 months. This planner is about the same size a desktop planner.
+Overall layout is impressive and carry's Alisha's voice over well.
-Not for brick and mortar business, this product is really geared for online business.
-I wish there were more room to add usernames/passwords. Obviously, I can add my own horizontal line to the box to fix this problem.
-Not enough rooms to doodle or add your own flare. This planner really gets down to business.
